SALVATION AND ETERNAL LIFE

Ephesians 2:8-9 says, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." So we are saved by faith in God! Not because we are good enough. It is by God's grace! None of us are good enough to be saved and none are too bad to be saved. Romans 3:23 says, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." He does not make a distinction of levels of sinners. Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord." By sinning, we have all earned spiritual death leading to hell. What we need is that gift of eternal life mentioned in that verse.

John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."  Jesus paid the price for our sins when He died on the cross. Our faith is in His sacrifice for our sins. Romans 10:9 says that we need to make Jesus our Lord. Now days most people have no clue what a "Lord" is. We have another problem with the Spanish language because in Spanish, the word Lord(Senor) is the same word for sir(senor). In that verse he is talking about making Jesus Christ our King (in Spanish Rey), putting Him in charge of our lives. Doing what pleases Him rather than just living for self.

SALVATION BRINGS CHANGE!

The verse in Ephesians 2:10 following the above quote says, "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." We are not saved by our works, but if our salvation is real, change will begin! John 1:12-13 says, "But as many as receive Him(Jesus Christ), to them he gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."  Jesus says in John 3 that you must be "Born Again". That is how complete His transformation is! PEOPLE WHO ARE BORN AGAIN ARE NOT PERFECT! Spiritually we start as newborn babies and grow to be more like Jesus Christ. As physical babies need to eat physical food to grow, the same is true for baby Christians. As we hear God's Word our faith grows (Romans 10:17). So come grow in faith with us!

FAITH

The Bible says clearly in Romans 12:3 that God has given some faith to everyone. Faith is not something we use to manipulate God into doing what we want, but rather faith is what we use to believe in God and to agree and believe in what God says. John 5:19 says, "Then Jesus answered and said to them, 'Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of  Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner." We cannot be so arrogant as to think we are greater than Jesus! If Jesus never acted from His own will, why should we think that will work for us? We must find out what God is doing and get in line with Him. Then our faith will work! We do that, first of all by reading the Bible and being obedient to His commands.

TRANSLATIONS

The Old Testament was originally written in Hebrew. The New Testament was written in Greek and Aramaic. While it is clear that translations to other languages such as English or Spanish are not completely perfect, when comparing reputable translations the differences are so small, the intent comes through clearly.

THE BIBLE

The Bible is God's Word. Within the Bible is 66 books written by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit (2nd Timothy 3:16)! Original manuscripts were written without error and then copied with great care to be shared. The discovery of  copies in many diverse places when compared show amazing accuracy! This would indicate God's divine participation in the preservation of His Word! We encourage people to read whole books of the Bible to get the whole context. We encourage people to start with the Gospel Of John. If you understand the Gospel Of John, it will help you understand the rest of the Bible.
